There are diving positions for women in Israeli Navy, the Snapir unit. The soldiers of this unit accomplish different tasks at sea: scuba diving, inspecting foreign cargo ships as well as patrolling Israeli maritime boundaries and harbors.

As an artillery corps fighter girls have the option to fit in one of the positions listed below:
- Fighter "smashes" (MLRS): advanced system of rocket launchers.

Radio operator (responsible for communication) is another female position in TZAHAL Navy. Young women in «tafkide» communicate between naval bases and ships within the port. Soldiers receive and transmit information reports using modern communication and reporting systems.
(more…)It is a rare possibility for women in the Israeli army to try the role of a seaman. The position includes assistance in Navy ships’ transportation, participation in maritime exercise, joint operations with naval corps – Navy seals (Shayetet 13), warfare crafts (Satilim) and submarines (Tzolelot). Sea tug soldiers study the systems of ship navigation, marine communication and coordination.
(more…)Technical skills are in great demand in the Israeli Navy and it is a good opportunity for women to gain specialist skills in TZAHAL. Technicians in Haley Yam adjust, repair and inspect naval forces reporting systems, mechanical and electronic equipment as well as underwater diving and combat systems. They are assigned to different Navy units with the possibility to be promoted to command and training positions.
(more…)It is a position for women in TZAHAL. Operators monitor Israeli maritime borders, preventing illegal boundary crossings by foreign ships and enemy forces. Women-operators work with surveillance and movement control systems including night-observation systems, security cameras, computers and various communication equipment.

The artillery unit is a major part of the ground combat forces in multiple and diverse missions. The corps is tasked with two principal missions:

The infantry brigade Givati is one of the most effective and responsive units of the ground forces. Due to its vast experience (established in 1947) this unit is well known beyond the boundaries of Israel.

The infantry Golani Brigade is not much younger than the Givati unit and it was founded in 1948. «Golani» soldiers have participated in most Israeli wars and many military operations. The brigade’s emblem is a green olive tree with roots against a yellow background. (more…)
