Border Police (Magav) – women
Military service in the field as a frontier sentry. The soldiers of this unit prevent trespassing on Israeli territory, undertake counter-terrorist measures and see to the overall border security.
During the term of their service the Magav unit solders (“Mishmar HaGvul”) conduct numerous detentions, provide law enforcement during different demonstrations and patrol flashpoint areas within the country.
→The training is 16 weeks long. Afterwards the soldiers are assigned to border police squads.
→The term of military service in this unit is 32 months (women sign a contract to extend their service term from 24 to 32 months).
