Security officers (Meavkhen Bithoni – maavarim)
Security officers are part of the Military Police Corps. “Meavkhen Bithoni” service takes place at border-crossing points and routes between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The soldiers who serve in this unit tasked with the searching and seizing of cargo, and individuals who threaten the country or citizens’ security either by means of terroristic or criminal nature.
→Alongside the 6-week course of basic military training, soldiers take many additional courses such as hand-to-hand combat, psychology, searching for forged documents.

One should select Mishtara Tzva’ first on the pre-conscription questionnaire (Manila) or inform the Katzin Miyun
