In 1995 the “Tisa” course was opened for women. In 1998 TZAHAL flight school had its first female graduate. Since then, more than 40 women have graduated from the flight school. Pilots are the air force elite of the Israeli Army. They are either combat aircraft, cargo aircraft, or helicopter pilots.

Since 2004 YALTAM has been open for women. The special forces unit YALTAM for tasks executed underwater (Yahida leMesisot Tam-Yamiyot) is a part of the elite Israeli Naval TZAHAL combat unit (Heil HaYam) which are tasked with diving and completing complicated underwater assignments.(more…)
EW soldiers or electronic warfare soldiers (“Lochem lechima electronit”) unit relates to “hel-tikshuv” (telecommunication technologies). The unit soldiers’ main tasks are jamming radio signals, capturing and «taking over» enemy’s television and radio systems on the ground, at sea, and in the air. (more…)
Women can also serve in the TZAHAL Canine unit. The soldiers of the Oketz unit work with dogs performing different tasks such as searching, rescuing, seizing and detaining.

There are diving positions for women in Israeli Navy, the Snapir unit. The soldiers of this unit accomplish different tasks at sea: scuba diving, inspecting foreign cargo ships as well as patrolling Israeli maritime boundaries and harbors.
