Since 2004 YALTAM has been open for women. The special forces unit YALTAM for tasks executed underwater (Yahida leMesisot Tam-Yamiyot) is a part of the elite Israeli Naval TZAHAL combat unit (Heil HaYam) which are tasked with diving and completing complicated underwater assignments.
