The post of “Mashakit Hinuch” in the Israeli Army is a good opportunity for women to gain experience in the sphere the organization of leisure time and education of TZAHAL soldiers. Soldiers in this post are responsible for the organization of training courses in their unit (for example Hebrew course “Ulpanit” or “Nativ” course), for development and implementation of educational programs for TZAHAL soldiers, for cultural events and in-depth knowledge of Israeli history and TZAHAL ideology.

Canine handlers in the Air Force or «tipul ve iluf klavim» take care of the dogs and training at Israeli Air Force Bases. The position of “Kalbanim Heil havir” perfectly suit women who like dogs and are eager to take care of animals throughout their military service. Being canine handlers, soldiers conduct patrols of the base perimeter with a dog, ensure special military events security, train dogs to execute various commands and look after the animals.(more…)
«Mashakit Tash» in TZAHAL are responsible for soldiers’ service conditions (in each separate unit or base). A social worker helps soldiers with financial problems during the term of their service, housing problems (for example, to issue a permit for permanent accommodation in a soldier’s house — Beit Hayal), additional days–off, transferring to another place of service, and many other things.(more…)
The position of a cook exists at many TZAHAL bases as it is necessary to provide 3 daily meals to all the soldiers and officers. “Tabahit” is usually attached to a chief (a professional under contract: “ish-keva”) who makes up a menu and is in charge of the overall cooking process. Cooks’ duties are: cutting salads, boiling, frying, stewing and even baking. In addition, cooks take care of the kitchen equipment, food reserves and order in the kitchen.

It is an interesting post in Israeli army for women, who want to gain experience in foreign relations. A coordinator for foreign relations is responsible for communicating with armies of other countries and a vaiety of international and peace organizations. The main tasks of “Mashakit Kishur leKohot Zarim” or just “Kishrei Chutz” consists of receiving and transmitting information between TZAHAL and any foreign bodies.(more…)
In 1995 the “Tisa” course was opened for women. In 1998 TZAHAL flight school had its first female graduate. Since then, more than 40 women have graduated from the flight school. Pilots are the air force elite of the Israeli Army. They are either combat aircraft, cargo aircraft, or helicopter pilots.

«Sar-El» is a program for volunteers from Israel and abroad. Being a part of this program, volunteers provide help at TZAHAL army bases. Instructors of this program (women) accompany volunteers during their stay in the army, coordinate their actions and help to establish contact with commanders.(more…)
The responsibilities of the TZAHAL soldiers who take the position of «mafteah mitkanim» include site security, patrolling of the base (both on foot and by motor vehicles), sentry duty, and the controlling of soldiers and civilians who enter the base.(more…)
