Air Force canine handler (Kalbanit Heil Havir)

Canine handlers in the Air Force or «tipul ve iluf klavim» take care of the dogs and training at Israeli Air Force Bases. The position of “Kalbanim Heil havir” perfectly suit women who like dogs and are eager to take care of animals throughout their military service. Being canine handlers, soldiers conduct patrols of the base perimeter with a dog, ensure special military events security, train dogs to execute various commands and look after the animals.

There are 3 canine handler courses in “Heil Havir”:
1. Training and care — the course is 6 weeks long.
2. Reconnaissance (search and detection) — the course lasts for from 12 to 24 weeks.
3. Combat dogs — the course is 7 weeks long.

→After having completed one of the courses (sometimes 2 courses) the soldiers get tasks according to the dog specialization.

→ Placement at Israeli Air Force Bases.

When the service is over, it is possible to take the personal dog home.

Requirements:
Medical profile 64 and higher
Placement according to the preliminary tests results (Yom aMea) or by the sorting officer (Katzin Miyun)
