Navy Commander (Chovel)
«Chovel» is a TZAHAL elite officer who has followed special training to command ships and marines of the Israeli Navy. Sea captains have to deal not only with marines but also with technologically-complicated systems of the ship. «Hovlim» receive long training which culminates in a first academic degree (Bachelor).
→The training takes 20 months, the minimum term of service takes 61 months.
→The selection includes passing «Yom Sayarot» or an individual invitation on the part of the army, followed by psycho-technic and psychological tests and finally ending with a four-day «Gibbush» (physical and psychological selection).
