Soldiers in this post drive cargo vehicles and other kinds of army vehicles (Hummer, Sufa, Abir, Ford, ambulance, etc.). Additionally, the drivers’ responsibilities include cargo-handling operations, vehicle maintenance, and in case of need, soldiers’ transportation, delivery to assignments, and delivery of military equipment, food supplies and ammunition. Women in TZAHAL can serve as passenger car drivers. This position besides driving includes car maintenance, as and when required. Some soldiers who are drivers get an assignment to the position of officer’s personal driver (usually high-ranking officers). (more…)
