Israel prison management (SHABAS)
Another position for TZAHAL soldiers is service in SHABAS («Sherut Batei HaSohar»). There are several positions in the Israel prison service:
1. Duty officer at prison
2. Search operations officer
3. Patroller
4. Surveillance and computer systems’ operator
→Those in service are exposed to stressful situations. They provide security and maintain order in military prisons.
→The training includes an 8-week prison guard course (Soarim)
→Placement in accordance with place of residence.
Conditions of service — a day in the army, three days at home.
Requirements:
One should select SHABAS first on the pre-conscription questionnaire (Manila) or inform the Katzin Miyun
