Pilot (Tayas)
Pilots are the air force elite of TZAHAL, these are either combat aircraft pilots, cargo aircraft pilots or helicopter pilots.
→ One of the most difficult and long training courses in the Israeli Army lasts for 3 years and upon its completion soldiers get the first academic grade and officer’s epaulets. Only a sixth of those who start the course complete it.
→ After the course, the pilots receive additional training in their squadrons. Those who are enrolled in the course must sign a 9-year agreement of contract service.
Selection conditions require personal data and tests, plus a six–day “Gibbush” (Physical fitness and psychological evaluation).
