The story of Kong dates back to 1830, when Giuseppe Bonaiti began crafting equipment in his workshop at the base of the Alps—laying the foundation for a legacy that would shape the meaning of “Made in Italy.”
His dedication to protecting human life, along with the vision of supporting climbers reaching new heights, drove Bonaiti to share his products and values worldwide.
Over time, his carabiners became essential gear for anyone involved in vertical activities.
In 1977, the Bonaiti company adopted the name Kong, yet its core mission has remained unchanged:
