Yahalom is an elite unit relating to <a href=\"\/en\/engineering-corps-andasa-kravit\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Hadansa Kravit<\/span><\/a> (Engineering Brigade), which performs special missions and conducts joint operations with other special units of TZAHAL. The Yahalom soldiers\u2019 activity is strictly classified and most of the operations of this unit go unreported.<\/em><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Currently a decision has been taken to expand the engineering brigade unit because they are irreplaceable while working on tunnels.<\/p>\n<p><em>During military service in the Yahalom unit, soldiers fulfill various tasks relating to the targeted destruction of objects on Israeli territory, demolition activity behind enemy lines, defusing explosive devices of diverse complexity and working with explosive matters of all kinds. <\/em><\/p>\n<h6>Photo from the archive of Flickr IDF Online<\/h6>\n<p><em><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" 3390 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.kasda.co.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/YahalomAndasaKravit.jpg\" alt=\"yahalomandasakravit\" width=\"186\" height=\"124\" \/>The special unit also operates robotics and modern remote-controlled technologies that help to minimize damage and save civilian lives. Moreover, Yahalom makes developments in the field of combat engineering and implements new technologies into the Israeli army.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2192The training in this unit for level 07 (Rovai) includes an infantry unit training course, Krav Maga lessons, a special course of combat engineering, a counter-terror <a href=\"\/en\/lotar\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Lotar<\/span><\/em><\/a> course, an air drop course (Tzniha), canyoning training, first aid dressing etc.<\/p>\n<p>\u2192Upon completion of the training the Yahalom soldiers receive level 09 (Rovaeii) which also gives them commanders\u2019 powers (Mefaked).<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #808000;\">In order to be accepted to Yahalom one has to complete a 5-day \u201cGibbush\u201d after being drafted to the engineering brigade (Handasa Kravit). In the framework of \u201cGibbush\u201d candidates pass physical fitness and psychological readiness selection test and also have a personal interview.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" 3391 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.kasda.co.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/YahalomSika.png\" alt=\"yahalomsika\" width=\"169\" height=\"73\" \/>Soldiers who for any reason failed to pass Pilot courses (<a href=\"\/en\/pilot-tayas\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Tays<\/em><\/span><\/a>), Air Force courses (<a href=\"\/en\/navy-commander-chovel\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Hovlim<\/span><\/em><\/a>) or Submariner (<a href=\"\/en\/submarines-tzolelot\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Tzolelolt<\/span><\/em><\/a>) captain courses may also be accepted to the Handasa Kravit unit.
